TCMI Academy students will be required to be in uniform daily. As part of creating a learning environment, the following will be enforced while on school premises.
Why a Mandatory School Uniform Policy?
Research has shown that school uniforms assist in controlling the environment in public schools, help to facilitate and maintain an effective learning environment and keep the focus of the classroom on learning.
School Uniforms:

● Positively influence a school’s image in the community and motivate school spirit
● Increase school safety
● Instill a sense of pride and discipline among students
● Positively affect classroom discipline
● Decrease morning stress in decision making about what to wear
● Are cost-effective – save families money
● Reduce distractions for students and reduce peer pressure
● Encourage discipline and respect for self
SHOES: Must be non-marking shoes, used during indoor sports such as basketball, tennis, and volleyball. Non-marking shoes are required as they leave no mark on our flooring. A way to recognize if you have a non-marking shoe is by rubbing the sole of the shoe to a white piece of paper, which should produce no scuff marks.
SKIRTS: Girls who choose to wear skirts with their uniforms must wear shorts underneath.
HAIR: Hair must be combed or brushed, trimmed, and attractive. Extreme, unnatural styles or coloring is not permitted.
JEWELRY: Jewelry in modest amounts. Earrings must be small (not loose). Boys may not wear earrings. No facial or tongue jewelry is permitted.
BELTS: Belts are optional for girls and boys. If worn, belts must be stretchable so that children can pull up or down their pants or shorts without unbuckling the belt.
SWEATERS/JACKETS: Students are only to wear a solid navy or grey sweater/jacket with no logos while in school.
BOTTOMS: Students may only wear navy or khaki pants/shorts. For P.E. days, only navy or gray athletic shorts/sweat pants.
